Demand plastic alternatives. This involves straws, plastic utensils, coffee cups, water bottles and bags. Switching to alternatives can be a big boost.
Reduce your carbon footprint. This can mean riding a bike, or walking. Turning off lights when you leave a room, or putting on a hoodie instead of using a thermostat.
If you eat seafood, make sure it is sustainable. This can mean making sure that the fishery is well managed and using proper practices.
Be vocal with ocean issues. That can mean voting, or writing to elected officials to pass certain bills, or bring certain things to light for the public eye.
Explore the oceans. It’s said that people protect the things that they love and there is no better way to fall in love with the oceans, than going and experiencing them yourselves.
Leave nothing behind. Clean up after yourself everywhere you go, never littering.
