This is where Silverback Hawaii began. The Paddle Beast started as a woodblock print carved by artist Mark Daniells in his Hanalei gallery. He called it a self portrait. His brother Matt put it on fabric and a brand was born.

The Paddle Beast represents every paddler who gets up before dawn, battles the elements, and lives for time on the water. It is part joke, part truth, entirely Hawaiian paddle culture.
